Terms of Service
Our service terms and conditions
Effective Date: July 28, 2026
These Terms of Service govern locksmith work performed by Austin Locksmiths LLC, trading as Austin Locksmiths, and your use of this website. When you book a job, accept a quote, or let a technician begin work, you agree to what is written here. It is worth five minutes of your time before you call.
1. Who You Are Hiring
Austin Locksmiths is the trading name of Austin Locksmiths LLC, a locksmith company operating from Austin, Texas. We are a mobile service. Our technicians travel to you, and the address below is our business office rather than a retail storefront or a walk-in shop.
Legal entity
Austin Locksmiths LLC
Texas license
Business address
4707 Whispering Valley DrAustin, TX 78727Phone
Locksmiths in Texas are licensed and regulated by the Texas Department of Public Safety, Private Security Program, under Chapter 1702 of the Texas Occupations Code. You can verify our license number at the link above before anyone touches your locks. We encourage you to do it.
2. Services We Provide
We provide the following locksmith services to residential, commercial, and automotive customers:
- Emergency lockout entry for homes, businesses, and vehicles
- Lock installation, repair, rekeying, and replacement
- Key cutting, duplication, transponder keys, and key fob programming
- Deadbolt and smart lock installation
- Commercial master key systems, access control, and exit hardware
- Safe opening and servicing
- Ignition repair and replacement
We do not guarantee that every service is available for every lock, vehicle, or safe. Some models require parts we have to order, and a small number are beyond what any locksmith can service without the manufacturer. If we cannot complete your job, we will tell you before we start rather than after.
3. Proof of Ownership or Authority
Before we open any lock, we will ask you to prove you are allowed to be there. This is not optional and it is not us being difficult. It is what separates a locksmith from a burglar, and it protects you as much as it protects us.
Depending on the job, we may ask for:
- Government-issued photo identification
- A lease, deed, mortgage statement, or utility bill showing your name at the address
- Vehicle registration, title, or insurance in your name
- For a business, proof that you are authorized to act for the company
If you cannot produce reasonable proof, we will decline the job. You may still be charged the service call fee for the trip, because the technician's time and travel were already spent. We will always tell you that fee before we dispatch.
4. Pricing and Payment
We quote before we work. Nobody starts a job on your property without you knowing what it will cost.
Service call fee. Every dispatch carries a service call fee that covers travel and the technician's time on site. We state this fee on the phone before we send anyone.
Written or verbal quote before work begins. Once the technician sees the actual lock, vehicle, or safe, you get a firm price for the work. You can decline at that point and pay only the service call fee.
Price changes need your approval. If the technician finds something the quote did not cover, work stops and you are asked before anything else is done. You are never billed for work you did not approve.
After-hours and holidays cost more. Late night, weekend, and holiday calls carry a higher rate. That rate is quoted the same way, before dispatch.
Payment is due when the job is finished, unless we have agreed something else with you in advance. We accept cash, debit cards, and Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover credit cards. A fee may apply on a declined or returned payment.
Commercial accounts. Net 30 day terms may be available to business customers on credit approval.
Prices quoted on this website or over the phone are estimates for typical jobs. The final price depends on the specific hardware, its condition, and what the job actually turns out to need. We will not know that until the technician is looking at it, which is exactly why we quote on site.
5. Cancellations, No-Shows, and Refunds
Scheduled appointments. Cancel at least 2 hours before the appointment and there is no charge. A cancellation inside 2 hours, or a no-show, may carry a service fee.
Emergency calls. Once a technician has been dispatched to an emergency, the trip charge applies even if you cancel or are not there when we arrive. That covers fuel, time, and the call we turned down to take yours. This is why we quote the fee before we dispatch.
If the work is not right. Tell us within the 90 day workmanship warranty period in Section 6 and we will come back and correct it at no additional charge.
Asking for a refund. If you believe you are owed a refund, call (737) 222-7022 or email info@austinlocksmiths.com and tell us what happened. We will look at the job, tell you what we can do, and issue any approved refund to the payment method you used. We would rather fix a job than argue about it.
6. Workmanship Warranty
We warrant our labor for 90 days from the date of service. If the hardware we installed or serviced fails because of how we did the work, we return and fix it at no charge to you.
Parts and hardware carry whatever warranty the manufacturer provides. We will pass along the manufacturer's terms and help you make a claim.
The workmanship warranty does not cover:
- Misuse, abuse, or unauthorized modification of the hardware
- Damage from forced entry, vandalism, accident, attempted break-in, or a natural disaster after we left
- Normal wear on moving parts
- Lockout and forced entry work, which can mark or damage the existing lock by its nature
- Work performed on the same hardware by someone else after us
- Customer-supplied parts that we installed at your request
- Hardware that was already failing and that you asked us to service anyway after we advised replacement
7. Emergency and After-Hours Service
We answer the phone 24 hours a day, every day of the year, including holidays. Our published hours below are the hours we accept calls and dispatch technicians.
Response times quoted on this site are typical, not guaranteed. How fast we reach you depends on where you are, traffic, weather, and how many jobs are ahead of yours. We will give you a realistic time estimate when you call, and we will tell you if we are running late.
If you are in immediate physical danger, locked in a vehicle in extreme heat, or there is a child or animal locked inside, call 911 first. Emergency services are equipped for that and we are not.
Some entry methods carry a risk of damage to the lock or the door, particularly on high-security hardware and older fittings. The technician will explain the risk and the likely cost before proceeding, and will not go ahead without your agreement.
8. Liability
We carry liability insurance and our technicians are background checked. If we damage your property through our own negligence, we are responsible for repairing or replacing it, and our insurance exists for that reason.
Beyond that, and to the extent Texas law allows, we are not liable for:
- Damage that occurs because you asked us to proceed after we warned you of the risk
- Pre-existing faults, wear, or damage to locks, doors, frames, or vehicles
- Losses that follow indirectly from a delay, such as missed work or missed appointments
- Failure of a security product to prevent a break-in, since no lock makes any property impossible to enter
Where we are found liable for a claim not covered by our insurance, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the specific service that caused the loss.
Your rights under Texas law. Nothing in these Terms waives any right you have under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Consumer Protection Act or any other consumer protection law. Those rights cannot be signed away and we are not asking you to try. If any part of this section is found unenforceable, the rest of these Terms stays in force.
9. Licensing, Insurance, and Complaints
Austin Locksmiths LLC holds Texas locksmith license #B30821501, issued and regulated by the Texas Department of Public Safety, Private Security Program. We carry general liability insurance and our technicians are background checked before they are sent to a customer's home or business.
If you have a complaint about our work that we have not resolved for you, you may file it with the Texas Department of Public Safety, Private Security Program. We would rather you called us first at (737) 222-7022 and gave us the chance to put it right, but the regulator is there and you are entitled to use it.
10. Website Content and Use
The text, images, logos, and layout on this website belong to Austin Locksmiths and are protected by copyright. You are welcome to read it, print it, and share links to it. You may not copy it wholesale onto another site.
Guides and advice published here are general information, not instructions for your specific lock or vehicle. Follow them at your own risk. If a job matters, call a licensed locksmith.
Submitting a form on this site is a request for service or a quote, not a binding booking. A job is booked when we confirm it with you.
11. Privacy
How we collect, use, and store your information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Security work is confidential by its nature. We do not sell customer lists, and we do not disclose what hardware you have or where it is installed except where the law requires it.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any dispute that reaches a court will be heard in the state or federal courts serving Travis County, Texas.
Before it gets that far, call us at (737) 222-7022 or email info@austinlocksmiths.com. Most complaints are a misunderstanding about scope or price and get sorted out in one phone call. We will acknowledge a written complaint within 3 business days.
Nothing here stops you from bringing a claim in small claims court or from contacting the Texas Department of Public Safety, Private Security Program or the Office of the Texas Attorney General.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as our services or the law change. The effective date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. The terms that apply to your job are the ones published on the day you booked it, not a later revision.
