The locksmith your neighbor already called
Austin owned since 2015. Licensed by the state, answering the phone at 3am, and pricing the job before we start it.

Our story
We started with one van and a phone that actually got answered
In 2015 there were already plenty of locksmiths in Austin. What there was not enough of was one you could call at 2am and get a human, a real price, and a van that showed up when it said it would.
So that is the business we built. Not a call centre routing your emergency to whoever bid lowest that morning, and not a national brand with an Austin phone number and a dispatcher three states away. Our technicians live here. They know that Hyde Park bungalows still run original 1920s mortise locks, that pier-and-beam houses in East Austin shift enough every season to jam a deadbolt, and that an August afternoon at 105 degrees will expand a cylinder just enough to snap a worn key clean off in the lock.
We have stayed deliberately mid-sized. Big enough to keep vans spread across the metro so 20-30 minute average response is a real number and not a slogan. Small enough that the person who picks up the phone can tell you what the job will actually cost.
Nobody calls a locksmith on a good day. The least we can do is not make it worse.
How we got here
2015 to today
How a single van and an after-hours phone line turned into the crew that covers the metro.
- 2015
Austin Locksmiths opens for business
The first Austin Locksmiths site goes live in August, launched alongside Pros On Call. One mobile van, a Central Texas service area, and a phone that got answered at 3am.
- 2016
24/7 dispatch and a full service menu
Round-the-clock dispatch goes live on (737) 222-7022, with automotive, residential and commercial work running off the same truck roster. The promise back then was 30 minutes or less.
- 2019
Growing past the one-van stage
Dispatch moves in-house and the fleet spreads out across the metro, which is what makes a genuine 20 to 30 minute arrival possible instead of a slogan.
- 2023
Access control and high-security work
Commercial demand pulls the business into master key systems, panic hardware, keypad and card entry for Austin offices, clinics and coworking spaces.
- 2024
25 verified reviews across four platforms
Google, Yelp, Facebook and Nextdoor, averaging 4.9 out of 5. Not a big number by design: these are real customers who were asked once, not chased.
- 2026
Texas DPS licence renewed through 2027
Licence B30821501 is current and verifiable on the state portal. In a trade where anyone can print a magnet and call themselves a locksmith, that number is the thing worth checking.
Why you can let us in
Locksmithing is one of the few trades where you hand a stranger the ability to open your home. Texas regulates it for that reason, and every claim below is one you can check.

25 verified reviews
A modest number of reviews, all of them real
We would rather show you 25 reviews we can stand behind than a number nobody can trace. Every one below is a real Austin customer on a public platform.
Locked myself out at Barton Springs on the hottest day of summer. These guys showed up before I got heatstroke and didn't charge me extra for being an idiot. 10/10 will lock myself out again.
ACL weekend, 2am, keys locked in my car on 6th Street. I thought I was screwed but they had someone there in 20 minutes. Saved my entire weekend. Worth every penny.
Just bought our first house in Mueller and wanted all the locks rekeyed. They came out same day, rekeyed everything including the back gate, and showed me how the smart lock works. Super patient with all my questions.
The hardware we carry and service
We stock parts for the locks Austin actually has on its doors, so most jobs finish on the first visit instead of turning into an order and a second trip.
Product names and logos are trademarks of their respective owners, shown to indicate the hardware we service. Austin Locksmiths is an independent locksmith and is not affiliated with or endorsed by these manufacturers.
Where to find us
Based in North Austin, mobile across Central Texas
Our shop sits off Whispering Valley in North Austin, but almost all of our work happens at your door. Vans cover 30 miles in every direction, which is what keeps most arrivals inside the 20-30 min window.

What we promise, in plain terms
- You get a price before we touch the lock, and that price is what you pay.
- If we cannot solve it, you do not pay a service fee for the privilege of finding out.
- We damage nothing we do not have to. Drilling is a last resort, not a shortcut.
- The technician at your door is licensed, background-checked, and in a marked van.
